Four key attributes of an Alberta Party Candidate to become our representative in the Legislature are intent, commitment, collaboration and capacity.

Sue demonstrates all of these attributes, and has done so throughout her time as a representative of the people in her neighbourhood while serving them on the school board, and while serving as the interim leader of our Party.

Her intent to bring civility back to political discourse as a representative of the people is well known and very much appreciated.

Sue’s commitment to Listening as the foundation of elected service is unswerving and she has demonstrated this many, many times over these past years in elected office. She lives this value and is modeling the way for so many of us in the Alberta Party.

Collaboration is the key to winning an election and then afterwards to build good policy and find the right solutions for the challenges that she will face in office. The ability to work within the framework of party politics without getting sucked into the old school way of doing things will be key to doing politics differently, doing politics collaboratively and ultimately doing politics the Alberta Party way.

Sue has the capacity to lead; she has the capacity to represent your interests in a manner that will make all of us proud. Sue has the capacity to be the change that we are all looking for in the legislature.

Some people really have contempt for elected officials and for candidates. And so, when they find a candidate that seems real to them, it can be really powerful.

So in the end I think it comes down to the value that Sue represents best, authenticity. Instead of just talking about her policy positions or trying to be all things to all people, Sue is willing to talk about what her convictions are, what her values are, and what she holds dear. People are craving authenticity and Sue represents all that is authentic about elected representation.

I am looking forward to continuing to work with Sue as she continues to strive, to seek, to find, and not to yield - as our candidate for Edmonton Glenora.
